A natural malachite specimen is a highly coveted copper carbonate hydroxide mineral, instantly recognisable by its striking, vibrant green hues and rich, swirling internal patterns. Because it forms primarily in the oxidised zones above deep copper deposits, raw malachite grows into unique, organic structures ranging from velvety, shimmering needle-like sprays to heavy, grape-like "botryoidal" nodules.
