Hydronium Jarosite is a rare, specialized mineral belonging to the jarosite group within the alunite supergroup. Highly valued by collectors for its rare chemical configuration, it features a distinctive glistening, amber-yellow, neon-gold, or deep ochre-brown color.
Classified as a hydronium iron sulfate hydroxide mineral with the chemical formula (H₃O)Fe³⁺₃(SO₄)₂(OH) It is notably rare because it only forms from alkali-deficient acidic solutions. If potassium or sodium are present in the environment, standard jarosite or natrojarosite will preferentially form instead.
